Spectrasoul - Taken / Organiser

Recording info

Hot on the heels of Critical 038, that featured the massive Break remix of Alibi, comes this strictly limited release with even more of the good stuff from the Spectrasoul boys and an awesome remix from the on-the-up Ramadanman. Taken is a funkridden, stepping track that demonstrates Spectrasouls left of centre tendancies in fine fashion. Short, sharp snares rattle from the off and when the bass drops the kicks thud and the highly syncopated rhythm take us deep, believe. A classy cut for the heads down, early morning crew. Flip over and its time for something completely different as label boss Kasra looks outside the D&B bubble to enlist the talents of a certain Ramadanman whos been making waves recently with his 140bpm excursions on labels such as Tempa, Soul Jazz and his own Hessle Audio label. Here he takes Spectrasouls Organiser and turns it into an ominous hardcore inspired piece of music thatll have dubsteppers skanking hard with its cool filtered synth hook, clattering breaks and the original creepy vox sample. Watch for the extra bass on the second drop too ouch!
