Lomechanik is a label and collective that has its roots in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, but works together with artists from all over the country. Since 2003 Lomechanik has been releasing quality music on vinyl, CD and also as free download.
Goal of the label is to release both experimental electronical music for (home) listening purposes, as well as more dancefloor- and beat-oriented music. This way, a broad array of musical subgenres is represented in the Lomechanik catalogue, whilst retaining a well-defined and unique character in the musical landscape of today. Now, Lomechanik is also doing more releases on vinyl again - just because we feel the time is right for it.
The artwork for the releases is done by manual silk screen printing, and the series will be visually clearly recognizable. The 20th of January 2012 we will release our next vinyl:
What Happens When You Sleep by Sam A La Bamalot. (Lomek020)
Sam A La Bamalot (real name: Sam Verstraten) is a young Dutch producer. Armed with a MPC1000, a MicroKorg and a Kaosspad he shapes futuristic walls of sound, combined with backbreaking wonky drums and mindboggling vocals that flow stereoscopically from left to right. An excellent addition to the blooming beat scene of this current day and age.
Sam A La Bamalot recently released his first banging 10inch vinyl release on the French label Faces Records, entitled 'A Bird's Leg'. This release has been picked up by various DJ's on BBC Radio 1, and has graced the shows of Gilles Peterson, Benji B and DJ Lefto.
Coming january 2012, Sam A La Bamalot will release his first 12inch on Lomechanik: 'What Happens When You Sleep'. The EP clearly reflects his progress as an artist: within the space of five tracks an intruiging range of tempo's, musical structures and sounds is explored by Sam A La Bamalot, clearly showing his ability to tell a complex, exciting story with his music. Rendering his dreams into a eclectic musical form, the vibes are reminiscent of the greatest works of Dimlite, Flying Lotus and Eskmo.

It's been exactly one year since the release of Mystical Deep. The autumn of 2011 is the time for the second part of the compilation. So, what can you expect from this collection of thirteen tracks that have made their way to the already 6th CD from Absys Records ?
For three years - that is from the very beginning of Absys coming to life - we've been concerned with shaping the profile of our label, concentrating mainly on the originality of sound, thus supporting both native (Poland is a country of great potential and to show it is part of our mission), as well as foreign upcoming artists. After some time we can say that the path we've chosen is right.
So, Mystical Deep vol 2 is kind of an essence of Absys Records and at the same time the twin of its predecessor - Mystical Deep. We present to you an extrasensory journey into the very centre of human mind. This journey will be mysterious, atmospheric, dubby, futuristic and - of course - set in the core of depth, but still, despite the featured diversity, will also be coherent and consistent. We hope that this compilation of music, associated by beautiful artwork, will be a good mood enhancer - not only in the autumn cloudy and rainy days.

The second release on Hidden Tracks by DJ Hidden continues to stretch boundaries and explore pathways of what might not even really be drum & bass. Drastic, the first track on this release, is as much a statement to that fact as it is an entire DJ set condensed to just a little over 6 minutes. It takes you from classic ambient sounds to modern high-tech dubstep to intensely energetic drum & bass, and just when think it couldn't really get any more diverse it effortlessly goes into 200 BPM crossbreed overdrive. Dying Star on the flip actually manages to find and touch ground that Drastic left untouched: beautiful arps combined with aggressive dubstep basslines and hard as nails kicks and snaredrums from the master. Not to be missed.

Together with internationally-acclaimed Reggae artist, Jahdan Blakkamoore and established stateside lyrical beasts, Armanni Reign & Diggadee MC - Trigon & Dave Gee push the envelope, delivering a massive cross-over Dubstep/Grime influenced riddim with Hip-Hop appeal. Dirty synths, banging 808 bass and pure nasty bars from these heavy-weight MCs all blend together seamlessly, proving this to be a powerhouse combination and nothing but pure 'murda!'
Kicking off the remix duties, the man behind the original Virus Syndicate sound, MRK1, jumps in with an explosive rework, combining the original vocals with an infectious melody, bone-shaking basslines and heavy-rolling drums, and turning it into a head-crushing dancefloor banger.

Glasgow's Taz Buckfaster - or just 'Taz' - was one of Rwina's earliest discoveries. His two EPs on Rwina have leaned towards the dubstep side of things, imbuing them with the playful hip-hop inspired mischief that remains the Rwina trademark, playing with dub skank on 'Kingston Bridge' and sending off firecrackers of concentrated synth melody in nearly uncontrollable bursts on '20 Red'. He now makes a welcome return to the label at the end of 2011 with the Neurotica EP with four brand new tracks of uncompromising Glaswegian heat.
With a reputation as a bit of a musical chameleon, having made his name across various labels and styles, this new release for Rwina sees Taz being quite neurotic in his hard-to-pin-down production approach - as the EP name might already given away! And while this could sound like a negative thing for most producers, in the hands and imagination of the young Scottish talent it's a recipe for forward thinking dancefloor success.
The self titled opener for the Neurotica EP sets the bar high with a production that twists, turns and shifts without ever sounding forced or unpleasant. Going straight for the jugular, Taz unleashes a combo of colourful, catchy and bouncy synth melodies and chest-pummeling bass laced wiry grime-funk with just the right amount of editing trickery to keep the listeners and dancers engaged and sweating. 'Hedge Your Bets' starts with some serious headnod swing before transforming itself into a seriously hypercolour beat manifesto with a driving rhythm and melodies that could be the perfect soundtrack for a remake of the classic Outrun. An out and out retro futuristic jam where Taz proves to be the earthly vessel for perfect execution of all sorts of styles.
The energy doesn't let loose as you flip to the B side. 'Stamma' keeps things popping with hectic nightmarish vocal loops and a rhythmic foundation that manages to alternate seamlessly between straight dancefloor energy and looser, crunk inspired swing held together by more pummeling bass. 'Ebb Flow' closes the proceedings, unpredictable as he is, with a mellower vibe that soon enough morphs and drops into a hands-in-the-air club vibe that fuses 2step-inspired, swinging drum patterns and a swirling bassline resulting in yet more dancefloor fire.
Taz's Neurotica EP further proves Glasgow's supremacy in providing future minded dancefloor jams, regardless of genre or style. This is the sound of a young producer coming into his own and playing with templates and ideas in a way that makes it impossible not to get down and join in.

The two robots crash land their Subpod on B-World, a backwater, arid, desert-like planet. There, they wander away from the Subsistenz craft, lost on the planet's rolling sand dune surface. With a comical 'Laurel-and-Hardy' type friendship, CV-3PO tells his metal m8, 'We seem to be made to suffer. It's our lot in life.' Then he mutters: 'What a desolate place this is.' CV-3PO stubbornly decides to split off from his partner after admonishing his pal's beeps: 'Don't get technical with me.' They go off in different directions, DR-D2 toward a low lying range of rocky mountains in the distance, and CV-3PO across miles of hot desert toward the horizon in the opposite direction.

Moleculez returns to Meta4 ready to clear dancefloors with some of his most destructive material to date. You know you're dealing with some serious dance music when none of the tracks on a release have vocal samples. The opening track, Future in Progress, is blessed with a wonderfully deep kickdrum that would probably even sound good at plus20, although we haven't tried that yet. Out of a nowhere the track suddenly seems to have stopped when an eerie melody creeps out of the dark. This sets the tone for the rest of the release: dark, driving and threatening. Gargoyle is the most driving; Lava Bomb the eeriest: and Future in Progress the most threatening. That's what we think, anyway. You decide. The last two tracks on this release are Probotector and The Haunted. The first is actual textbook honest to goodness industrial hardcore while the latter isn't really anything we can talk about here. Highly recommended because we want to sell records.
