Remember our first vinyl introducing the Belgian Plastikman? Nico is back!
Nico's love for old vintage synths and the TR-808 keeps him up at night. We think his strong coffee and his dark room keep him inspired to come up with stuff like this. 'Enter The Void' takes you back to the early 90'ies. Hard 808 kicks, twisted baselines and great glitches captured and arranged in his typical style & sound, made this one, again, in a Plastikman-esk downtempo killer.
Accompanied with two remixes by Aubrey & Mr. Mau, this EP is another record you need in your collection.
We're honoured to present Aubrey's remix. Allens history goes way back. Man sure earned respect with his releases on Solid Groove, Ferox, Mosaic, Intelligence Records, Textures, Offshoot, the list goes on and on. His typical somewhat filthy style makes him really unique and he managed it again to make a track like no other track made before.
The remix by Mr. Mau is something you haven't heard from him before. Not sure if you're ready to take this trip back to the ol'skool tech from the 90'ies with a slightly new and twisted feel to it. Definitely one for the floor!

close
Grey Series, an offshot of the already well established M_Rec Ltd., aims at celebrating the reclusiveness of techno, its core ideas, its attitudes and its most recent mutations. Traditions that while remaining, have allowed today's artists to conceive uncompromising and exciting sounds.
Its first release sees Juho Kahilainen explore dark and glacial territories.
"Epilogue " is the end of the darkest set, with its sinister piano moving slowly on a set of digital sounds meant to shut off any source of light. "We Heard it Coming" enhances stripped down techno with echoes of what seems to be field recordings from an unexplored locations. "Rotko " dims the light down with its flirty, crepuscular details. Acid and irresistible, it's a trip that carries you on and on. "The Less We Try " takes a dramatic turn, where a beat that pays tribute to acid sounds encounter a martial soundwave and its tense and dooming melody.
Grey Series is dedicated to everyone who lives techno today, who recognizes that there's a whole array of possibilities to explore, away from whatever the dancefloor requires.

For the next OUTNL we prepared a package with 2 of our favorite artists of the moment.
On the A side we have a track by Glaswegian 'James Johnston' who has had an immense year

pleased that James decided to release his deep burning ''That Was Now'' on Outernational.
On the B side we find Ben La Desh. Who returns to Outernerational with the breezy but ferm

'Resiliens Recordings is not only a simply independent record label but it presents itself as a project much more detailed and complex. It wants to be an idea, an impulse: the paradigm of artistic, visual and sound contemporaneity.
The purpose of the group is to reinvent, assimilate and re rework the contemporaneity according to an independent and multifaceted artistic sensibility. According to its intrinsic meaning, Resiliens was created with the intention of creating a new way of thinking and making art, able to react to external influences of modernity, transforming it without getting stunned. The genesis of a movement that embraces every artistic aspect, in a profound synergic interaction and collaboration between heterogeneous parts whose point of arrival is a complete artistic experience, in its deepest sense.
The final goal of Resiliens is therefore change the existing schemes, through clear and obvious messages around the entire artistic path: from production to exposure.'

Abstract Division

B2 Deformation / Area Forty One's Sunday ...
close
Concluding what has proven to be a nothing short of an epic trilogy, Dynamic Reflection unveils the final instalment in Abstract Division's 'Form and Function' series. The crowning piece features one new Abstract Division track, 'Deformation' and three remixes from Mike Parker, Norman Nodge and the secretive Area Forty One.
Diverting from its more introvert predecessors 'Floating Point' and 'Shifted Reality', 'Deformation' grips its audience by the throat from the get-go and doesn't let go. Distorted, looped, developing punches force all other elements in the track to continuously fight for air, leaving just enough for them to add their distinctive, crucial sounds. The level of aggressiveness 'Deformation' manages to communicate is astonishing and the fact that in spite of this the whole still fits together perfectly exemplifies the craftsmanship of Abstract Division. This one hurts, but it hurts so damn well.
The first person on remix duty is English bass-guru Mike Parker. In his trademark 'ringing bass' fashion Parker dips 'Deformation' in layer upon layer of dubby goodness without diminishing any of the original's drive. Hypnotizing and mesmerizing are perhaps the best words to describe this true marble of a remix. One of those tracks that will stand out no matter what the time or the place, making it a valuable addition to any DJ's record bag.
Lawyer-by-day and techno-don by night Norman Nodge shares his vision on 'Deformation' and fills in the first remix spot on the flipside. Vicious hats and throbbing deep kicks greet the listener as Nodge slowly opens the valve containing all of the grit, anger and raw funk he has to offer. Slowly but inevitably the beast is freed from the confines of its cage and once out there is little left to do but dance until one's feet are sore and praying you're still here when it's all over...
Last, but by no means least is Area Forty One's take on 'Deformation'. Having progressed through the EP in normal order this version feels and sounds like an ocean of rewarding calm. Far-away, eerie and strangely soothing filtered synths alleviate the mind to a state of complete lucidity. Halfway through the equilibrium is broken for a few seconds and it's almost as if the original track's rage manages to surface for a few seconds but is then quickly washed away. Area Forty One delivers an absolutely stunning treasure the likes of which only pop up every once in a while.
Abstract Division completes its 'Form and Function' series on Dynamic Reflection with a final EP that accepts the challenge, raises the already high bar set and passes with flying colours. Without letting Part I and II down, I dare say the label has indeed saved the very best for last. You cannot let this one slip!

Sasha Carassi is back on his Phobiq imprint with the 'Fiberboard' EP!
With synths sounding like liquid tension, the original mix is a journey through tough beats and
frantic electronics.
The mighty Slam are in charge of the first remix and they take the dark and dirty route, stripping the original down and adding some bleakness of their own, only to surprise us with an old school-sounding breakdown.
The Acid mix is slightly more rolling, featuring snappy drums and pulsating percussion, which takes us to the fourth track of the EP; closing up is Tom Laws, who has been making his own unmistakable noise as of late. Utilizing simple,
yet solid drums he offers us a clearer picture of the tense synths while maintaining the vibe of the original.

NC-17 / The Upbeats / Smooth
A1 Slughs Path
B1 Slughs Path
close
NC-17 is a Drum & Bass duo of talented producers based in Toronto, Canada. Their namesake refers to the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) rating system which undertakes that a film rated NC-17 would be one based around violence, sex, aberrational behaviour, drug abuse or any other element that
most parents would consider too intense for viewing by their children. The groups love of film reflects not only in their name, but equally in their music, combining both deep and techy vibes with a cinematic edge that has resulted in releases on an eclectic set of labels such as
Charge Recordings, Viper, Renegade Hardware, All Sorts, Proximity, DSCI4, MAC II, SOM Music, Vampire, Big Riddim, and more.
NC-17 have now formed their own label, Grindhou5e Audio, which is set to feature tracks from artists such as The Upbeats, Smooth, State Of Mind, Mr. Explicit, Treo, Grimm and more. Set up as outlet for music with attitude, Grindhou5e represents one of the only Canadian drum & bass labels representing international artists around the globe. Featuring two remixes from DnB scene veterans, The Upbeats and shining star Smooth, the first release from Grindhou5e puts a new spin on NC-17's 2006 hit, 'Slug Path' - a tune that quickly squirmed its way into the sets of DJ's such as Andy C, Noisia, Ed Rush & Optical and DJ Hype upon its initial release.
NC-17 - 'Slug Path (The Upbeats Remix)'
A reworking from the legendary Upbeats, the first remix kicks things off with a bang. Featuring all the hallmarks of The Upbeats production, this track shows why the Kiwi duo are set to release a full-length album on Noisia's Vision record label later in the year. Combining all the atmosphere of the original with a relentless bassline, forceful drums and eerie synths, this gritty remix will be found in only the darkest raves.
NC-17 - 'Slug Path (Smooth Remix)'
The second reworking comes from Smooth, one of Viper Recordings brightest talents. Coming off his debut EP on Viper, the young Slovenian shows his prowess once again after recent remixes of Camo & Krooked and dubstep sensation Seven Lions. Full of adrenaline from the very beginning, Smooth transforms the morbid tones of the original into a dancefloor weapon, with soaring metallic synths clashing over an infectious drumstep beat. Definite rewind material here.

We like to keep things in the family at IM:Ltd and so here we go again with two brand new storming tracks from Atmospherix, our Belgian
regular who makes most mainstream Drum & Bass sound like a family trip to Legoland.
On the A side, 'System Break' is a minimalistic roller held together by a high-voltage electrified bassline. Topped off with the vintage sounds of
computers from 80s futuristic films and spooky pads somewhat reminiscent of creepy underground levels in old RPG computer games, the track emanates an eeriness that is only broken by a voice shouting in the distance.
On the B side, 'Duende' is a dark and imposing soulful track that features the talents of Hydro who gets his syrupy fingers all over Atmospherix's rugged production style. Sweet vocal tones and Spanish guitars give way
to a breakdown that features a tentatively sunny piano section. It might be short, but it casts some brightness on the rest of the track and lets some light play off the surface, changing the tone of the track entirely by
re-focussing the listeners attention.
Standard business as usual.

Darkcell shows the new release on vinyl, just the third for his own label. His style is clearly defined. One track signed by the label's owner, and others two tracks signed Myk Derill (Reform, Knotweed, etc). Darkcell transmitted in its track an atmosphere of modern techno. A slow techno rhythm, repetitive with something of psychedelic. A sort of brainwashing that will lead to total body hypnosis. The two tracks by Myk Derill are the same style. The first track (Apply) is definitely very rough with a syncopated rhythm . The second (Contemporary) is much more in the direction of dub-techno.

Freddy K is an icon of the historic Italian techno scene. In 90's his productions were on the historic ACV Records label. Then over the years has always been one of the key points of the techno scene, with record music stores, radio shows (Virus) and new labels like the historic Elettronica Romana (he was one of two minds that created this label, with Sandro Nasonte). His experience led him to be behind many current projects, he moved to Berlin. This time it wants to make its contribution on his own label which is already out talents like Conrad Van Orton and Shapednoise (and it's only the beginning). A label on vinyl only!
Here begins a series in 10 "which will be just him and friends. Here he presents his own original tracks and a track on the other side along with another new (but not young) artist who has quickly attracted the attention of many artists in the world with his new label Kript: Ken Karter.
Freddy K's track is pure techno. A trip that starts hypnotic. Sounds of a modern techno rhythm already heavy...it's just the beginning. Drones and metallic sounds create the expectation. Sounds strange and perverse to make up the rhythm again after the first break. A constant sound in the background makes you totally hypnotized. The sound goes up like an alarm to go off. But you are not yet arrived. At the second break .. sounds and distortions open up in a frenzy of techno obsessive and destructive. No mercy!
On the other side, the track with Ken Karter will fight two different schools. Noise, an almost drum'n'bass rhythm break. Sounds sick of Ken Karter. hysterical atmosphere and rhythmic electronics. A journey through the experiences of two artists who are attracted to each other. Everything explodes after a series of psychedelic and visionary atmosphere. Until you get to TB303 sounds distorted and very old school. Amazing!

Punto Kokous and Verso Pohjois which have a mixed Italian and Finnish translation of Meeting Point and Direction North. Also on the release we have a momentous remix from Edit Select (Electric Deluxe, Stroboscopic Artefacts) And a deep brooding remix by label boss Deepbass.

Lessismore 060 - Freaksandfollowers remixed by Gideon who is going back to his Old Skool roots! The Freaksandfollowers album is by Anticlub, a notorious collective from Eindhoven, the Southern capital of Holland, who was inspired to push itself into a new direction. The inspiration came from a painting by an old lady that drew the attention and gave the impulse to create the album 'Freaks and Followers'. As the title suggests there are two kinds of people, people who take risks and people who do not. As Anticlub used to be a risk-taker but slowly settled in an unwanted comfort zone, this created dissatisfaction and led to a creative standstill. Seeing the painting everything became clear again. One should not stand still but keep moving and evolve oneself into new areas that one has not yet explored creatively. As Lessismore is from the same Dutch city, this state of mind also hit the Lessismore label, which inevitable resulted in both parties joining forces to release this diverse album by a former underground techno crew called Anticlub. As the Lessismore label is known for it's typically styled techno, Lessismore was searching for a new impulse sound wise and visually, to ensure creative satisfaction in the years to come. With this album everything came together and the Lessismore crew reunited to renew their input into the label, which was once founded to be a creative platform and an artistic journey and in retrospective clearly not a platform where one should repeat itself time after time.

A freshly minted London label, Clueplant's mission is to push twisted, imaginative techno with a raw analogue energy and a futuristic approach to sound design.
The first release showcases a balance of two distinctly individual and intoxicating tunes which have seen enthusiastic reception on the dancefloor and radio while doing the rounds as dubplates.
The A side hosts a powerful chunk of modern techno energetically played live and is the first release from London producer 12&bit, a perverse hardware purist whose vinyl and live sets have thumped out at Teknivals aross Europe and seen over 2 million downloads of his played-live techno through the open-source Audio Globular music library.
On the B side the perversity is taken a step further by the infamous Bulgarian electro deviant, MANASYt. Following 11 years of quality vinyl output on prolific labels such as Kommando 6, Touchin' Bass and Bunker, the balaclava-clad nomad MANASYt has set up his studio in the techno capitals of the world, Berlin, London and Detroit, and is now in China pumping out his trademark brutal and forward-thinking industrial techno for Clueplant

This release represent in a sense the spirit of what we are.
We started to think about it around 3 years ago, and is good to say that everything is gone positive.
All the artists involved are connect from the same empathy and love, and things happened in the most natural way.
Collecting all the infos about Mrs. Endresen and Mr. Wesseltoft and looking at Ninca and Bruno biography, and of course with Andrea and Hubble always is our minds, we can affirm one more time the power of this intense feeling that keep us close to each other.
And again...
"...all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration and we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively.
There's no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we're the imagination of ourselves."
Enjoy music!

22:22 is the first Ukrainian drum and bass label, releasing music on vinyl and in digital format. The label's debut release is the single, Summo / Belltine, two slices of aggressive and futuristic soundscaping that are impossible to ignore.
Belltine - Sunchase & NickBee
A deceptively orderly intro sequence gives way to powerful percussion, staccato rhythms and ominous sound design. Thundering drums, thick basslines and cold, otherworldly engineering conjure up images of uninhabited planets and their alien landscapes.
Summo - Nickbee
On the flip to Belltine is Summo, from Nickbee. Into his own version of chewing, growling neurofunk bass technology Nickbee skillfully interweaves echoes of the East, while the pounding drumtrack showcases a talent for audio well beyond his young age.

The Modal Lounge LP will bring you to a dreamlike state, it's smooth, jazzy drum and bass definetely not for the masses. Like Dynamic said in his KMAG interview ''I dont just write dnb for the club - I'd never feel comfortable being restricted in that way''. The album however is not just for home listeners, already receiving support by the likes of LTJ Bukem and former BBC1 Radio hosts Fabio and Grooverider this LP is already promising to be a Fokuz classic.

IMPERIAL EP
We figured it was time for some d&b again, we had a few tracks lying around for a while that we wanted to finish and put out and we had 2 collabs that went well together. We wanted to call it the 'Tryhard EP', cause all the tracks were so full on. Then Nik & Karol (khomatech.com) started on the artwork, and couldn't really come up with anything cool with that name, so we decided 'Imperial' was a better name. The artwork took about a week to make. We are very proud of this EP.
IMPERIAL
Phace came out to Groningen again, as he tends to do, to do music. We started this one without working on the main groove first, Florian had brought this awesome chord progression. We made the intro and progression from it, which is quite different musically from our normal stuff. Then we went a bit theatrical with the music, i guess we kind of suprised ourselves with the intensity of the drop. But it was refreshing to do. And it's been going down rather well in our sets..
TRYHARD
This is an older track that has had quite a few incarnations. It used to be called 'lomp', which translates to crude, or blunt. We had it lying around unfinished for a long time, and a certain youtube set rip was getting a lot of love, so we figured we'd finish it. Changed the mix, added a rollout section, etc. One of the inspriations for this track is Bad Company - 'Dogfight'.. such a sick tune.
DUSTUP
Our friends The Upbeats came down to Groningen amidst one of their Europe tours and we hung out, got in the studio, found an old unused bass riff, used it in the buildup, recorded all of us going 'HA' and 'ZU', worked on drum fills for a long time, temporarly called the tune 'Pumpers', jumped around in the studio and voila! 'Dust Up' was born.
CONTAINMENT
This track has had many faces also. It started as a bit of a Kemal tribute and and an attempt to do as many things with synths as possible, like the main drums for example (FM8). Along the way it became a journey back into the dark spacious sound of early 2000 era D&B.

Bong-Ra's new album 'Monolith' is a new step in pure hybrid electronics. Seamlessly mixing all styles with ease. Be it Metal, Drum and Bass, Hip Hop and Dubstep. A musical characteristic he has gained
international praise for.
'Monolith' is divided up into two segments : 'Alpha' and 'Omega'. 'Alpha' are four Hiphop-esque colossals featuring the American rapper Sole, who has proven himself over the years with his crew and label Anticon. 'Omega' is the dancefloor orientated part of the album where Bong-Ra continues with his trademark Metalbreaks style which made him remix the likes of Bolt Thrower and even screamo legends Therapy ?
Since 1996 Bong-Ra has released 5 full length albums, and has released on labels such as DJAX. Planet Mu, Ad Noiseam, Kid 606's Tigerbeat 6, Jason Forrest's Cock Rock Disco to name a few.
The biggest success came with the 2003 album
'Bikini Bandits, Kill! Kill! Kill!' managing a full rotation with the videoclip '666MPH' on MTV.
BBC's Radio 1 DJ, John Peel, was also a big fan, inviting Bong-Ra to do a famous John Peel Session in 2001, and was asked to be part of the Peel Tribute CD 'Kats Karavan' containing Peel's 125 favourite session artists. This CD contained the likes of Bob Marley, Boomtown Rats, The Jam, PJ Harvey and Bong-Ra amongst others.
In the last decade Bong-Ra has played all the big festivals : Glastonbury, Lowlands, Fusion, Dour, Eurosonic, etc and has toured Europe, the US and Japan.
Bong-Ra is further known for being one of the pioneers of the 'Breakcore' genre. Together with artists like Venetian Snares, Shitmat and Jason Forrest they developed this unique and energetic crossbreed in the early 2000's
With Monolith Bong-Ra continues to pave the way into heavy electronics, always re-inventing and evolving himself with every album.
He recently won the Dutch 3voor12 Award (the largest Dutch music platform) for Best Musician, for his Bong-Ra and The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble projects.
