Following in the wake of Conrad van Orton's well-received digital 'Strepto' release, Tim Wolff's 'Backstage Management' EP now takes the spotlight. Two originals and two stunning remixes from veteran Jeroen Search and upcoming talent Stefan Vincent make for an all-Dutch must-have. First up is original of Backstage Fridge; real nineties-like raw four to the floor madness with a distinctively modern twist. Steve Rachmad has been dropping this bomb in almost all of his sets for quite some time, proving Tim definitely hit the nail on head with this one. On remix duty we find none other than Jeroen Search, one of Holland's finest and most experienced producers. A master at adding that solid 90s groove to his tracks through the use of analogue basselines, hypnotic synths and 909 rides; the end result always has that typical Search signature. On the flip side Tim showcases his versatility. With 'Stage Management' Tim Wolff adds a true dance floor banger to the package. Pumping grooves, pounding kick drums and uplifting percussion and hihats dominate. A definite peak time track, bound to see many hands go up in the air. Four fine cuts of futuristic techno, each one with its own particular mood and feel. The release starts with 'Reverberation' by Oscar Mulero; an intense workout beginning with a straight and dark beat, salted with precise sub bass frequencies. The track grows and evolves till FM bass galore takes over and synth drums and white noise infect the arrangement, taking intensity to peak levels. Exium show their electro side in the second track 'No sign of weakness'. They depart from 4x4 beats on behalf of broken beats with an industrial flavour and the traditional drones, dark atmospheres and moving arrangements they are known for. IM:Ltd	Atmospherix & Hydro A1 System Break B1 Duende close We like to keep things in the family at IM:Ltd and so here we go again with two brand new storming tracks from Atmospherix, our Belgian regular who makes most mainstream Drum & Bass sound like a family trip to Legoland. On the A side, 'System Break' is a minimalistic roller held together by a high-voltage electrified bassline. Topped off with the vintage sounds of computers from 80s futuristic films and spooky pads somewhat reminiscent of creepy underground levels in old RPG computer games, the track emanates an eeriness that is only broken by a voice shouting in the distance. On the B side, 'Duende' is a dark and imposing soulful track that features the talents of Hydro who gets his syrupy fingers all over Atmospherix's rugged production style. Sweet vocal tones and Spanish guitars give way to a breakdown that features a tentatively sunny piano section.
