Samuli Kemppi may have begun in warm house climes as the duo Sam & Gigi, but he has since found his niche and fame sound tracking the deep and icy black recesses of space. 2009's Komisch debut, 'Deep Space Helsinki EP', birthed the galactic signature that would come to define his solo techno output for labels like Prologue, Mote-Evolver and Perc Trax, meanwhile cementing his stylistic meanderings to a single, albeit flexible, narrative. 'Parallax Of One Second EP' is Samuli Kemppi's third outing on M_Rec Ltd, after the full 'Cyclic Model EP' and remix inclusion on Ben Gibson's 'More Than Milk', and sees the Fin plundering the astronomic theme once again with stellar sci-fi precision.
On the A-side: 'Extragalactic' opens with swirling technoid vistas, on a wonky robo-dance floor in a future imaged long ago. Warbling chimes and tweeting astro-creatures continue to plague 'Astrometric Precision', bleating at one another on our serene shuttle through the cosmos. The B-side then takes a decided plunge with tougher piston sounds and grittier textures on 'More Than Parsec' as our journey becomes more wild-eyed, concluding in the keyed radio-distress signals and itchy hats of 'Less Than Planck'. I guess we're never getting home wherever that may be, but this new universe isn't so bad after all.

'Polar Era' comes out! This is the second reference of Lycaon label owned by Agony Forces, the group that already surprised with their first: 'The Noir Age'. This delivery is composed by two original tracks and remixes by the duo Ancient Methods from Berlin, and by the leader of techno in Spain, Oscar Mulero.
The reference opens with the original version of Polar era, a pulsing and hypnotic techno track. White noise and reverb-soaked atmospheres get the intensity grow higher and higher until the climax, in which a pad makes an appearance and then returns to the initial energy. 909 rhythms and percussions make this a perfect piece for DJ's working the track.
Vertebra is the second cut, where the AF shows the distinguishing features of his characteristic sound, a track in which the sensitivity of idm and techno with a capital combine to result in a timeless cut. Deep drums, futuristic stabs and sound of classic rhythm are the ingredients of the end of side A.
The two producers Ancient Methods take charge of the first of the remixes, and bring in their distinctive sound to the reference giving a twist to the original track, getting the more industrial side playing with the intensity of the rhythms and hypnotic melodies. No doubt the producers 'Made in Berlin' stamped their breath on the track.
The reference closes with Oscar Mulero's remix, who brings out his most thoughtful and timeless character to build a track in which the influence of electronic with roots in the past decade is more than obvious. Not to mention his trademark and his background in the world of techno, the track is a perfect brooch to close this second reference.

Our Seleccion Natural compilation series is back in shape with this 6th instalment, featuring as always music from our all star team: Oscar Mulero, Exium, Christian Wunsch and Reeko.
Four fine cuts of futuristic techno, each one with its own particular mood and feel.
The release starts with 'Reverberation' by Oscar Mulero; an intense workout beginning with a straight and dark beat, salted with precise sub bass frequencies. The track grows and evolves till FM bass galore takes over and synth drums and white noise infect the arrangement, taking intensity to peak levels.
Exium show their electro side in the second track 'No sign of weakness'. They depart from 4x4 beats on behalf of broken beats with an industrial flavour and the traditional drones, dark atmospheres and moving arrangements they are known for.
Christian Wunsch reveals his darker side in 'Sleeper Cell', based on an enormous kick, side by side with sharp hats, digital percussions and dark and sticky noises.
'Lynx' is Reeko's input into this 12inch. Complex and intricate rhythms, thick textures, multiple layers of drums and a constantly evolving structure; dark and sharp at the same time.
An excellent sample of contemporary techno created by four of the best European producers of the moment. Don't miss it.

City Fly have been proud to release three solo 12inches from house disciples Steven Wobblejay, Flori and Creative Swing Alliance - complete with a plethora of remixes from acclaimed producers such as Medlar, Leif and Iron Curtis. However, as always at the forefront of the house revival City Fly continue their quest in discovering and nurturing hidden house talent - always on the lookout to unearth and showcase those left in the shadows...
So for their 5th release City Fly are proud to present the 'Visions Volume 2' EP - the follow up to their successful debut 'Visions' EP. The ethos of the Visions EP's are to present an array of artists from an international palette - representing the full house spectrum and showcasing house in all its forms. As well as welcoming back kindred spirit Pablo Valentino into the fold, City Fly are proud to present Lay-Far, The Royal Oberheims and Chocky for Visions Vol.2...
PABLO VALENTINO - 'OLD NEW SWING'
After the success of his 'CSA EP' on City Fly's second release under his nom de plume Creative Swing Alliance, label mainstay and producer du jour Pablo Valentino is back bringing the heat to the label's latest EP. His contribution, 'Old New Swing' kicks off with some conversational dusty vocal samples and warm bass - a tried and tested formula that's synonymous with his tracks on his MCDE imprint with partner in crime Danilo Plessow. The track then slowly builds with the de rigueur diva soul vox juxtaposing with the intermittent synths and keys - personifying the track title perfectly. Yet again showcasing his production ingenuity in mixing the old and new effortlessly, 'Old New Swing' will appeal to the heads and dancers alike - one for the soul and the soles...
LAY-FAR - 'PERFECT WORLD'
City Fly have unearthed a raw diamond in the form of Russia's Alexander Lay-Far AKA Lay-Far. The Moscow native and 'In-Beat-Ween Sessions' host is already building an impressive discography with a release on Dutch tastemakers 4lux, Manchester's Development Music and more recently on JD records with Detroit marvel Terrence Parker remixing him. On to 'Perfect World' and with its dream-like harmony, yearning female larynx and warm bass, it's a transcendent production that builds up to an arresting, ethereal breakdown - elevating it above the usual house fare with its timeless aesthetic. With further releases due on distinguished house labels including Amp Art, Visky Recordings and Fifty Fathoms Deep, Lay-Far is definitely one to watch this year...
THE ROYAL OBERHEIMS - 'CRASH TEST DUMMIES'
Roman Rauch's inimitable production style has seen him appear on a diverse array of prestigious house labels such as Philpot, Quintessentials, Endless Flight and MoreAboutMusic, and with his recent guest spot at City Fly's renowned club night, it was only a matter of time and a natural progression that he would feature on their next release. On this occasion Rauch teams up with the mysterious 'Perez' to form the enigmatically named 'The Royal Oberheims' and present the equally intriguingly titled 'Crash Test Dummies'. With its warm pads and bouncy syncopated rhythm, 'Crash Test Dummies' builds relentlessly resulting in arresting climaxes with acid squelches and swirling synths elevating the listener - culminating in an otherworldly groove that is idiosyncratic and infectious in equal measure. Here's to the Royal Oberheims being cast upon the throne in the house hierarchy...
CHOCKY - 'LANDED IN HACKNEY'
To round off the EP City Fly are proud to present London Town's Chocky who has already caused waves with his tracks for the Disconnected label. Taking cue from the John Wyndham novel, this was the source of inspiration for the name 'Chocky' - where an alien utilises sounds and frequencies to communicate to the world. Listening to 'Landed In Hackney' you can certainly hear the influence as in contrast to the rest of the EP this track takes the listener on a deeper trajectory with its atmospheric synths, bottomless bass, eerie jazz squiggles and haunting vox - a deeper journey that's definitely one to submerge yourself in with the headphones on. With future releases also due on Roots For Bloom and fellow Leicester-based house posse Artful Division, Chocky is one to watch out for in 2013...

As Belfast house maestros Extended Play stride into their thirties, they decided it was time to commit some of their solid workouts to wax.
So they are putting their trust in Dutch wunderkind & raw house specialist De Sluwe Vos (The Sly Fox) and cohort Beaumont Livingstone and their house anthem 'Believe' which they firmly 'ahem' believe is set to ignite dance floors across the world all summer long after being road tested to rapturous results.
English gentleman Timmy P steps up for remix duties and splashes some lotion on 'Believe', creating an upbeat contrast to the brooding original and turns out a version that is bound to make great sense at open air parties.
'I.izab' completes the package with it's dubbed out house vibe and we reckon you could be hard pushed to find more robust summer dance floor burners than these three gems.

Behind E.B.O's misteryous initials are Sex Ed, B- NY and Odille Lima. Now as band with a powerfull live and well-made remixers, E.B.O consolidate their project through this new EP, published in Oblack Label. 'I told ya' has a soft-house, pop & soul way in wich the rhythmic and electrical bassline with the warm and sexy Odille Lima's voice provide elegance, authenticity and timeless to the track. His strange groove, between carnal and robotic, supported on velvety volcals became this track in a synthetic and deep oasis in contrast of many commercial tech-house and EDM. Finally.. some good music!
The remixes of this new jewel of Oblack called 'I told Ya' in EP format, are of Los Pastores, Pele & Shawnecy and Fabian Argomedo. The bucolic pair from Valencia (Los Pastores) take the track, approach it to them and inmerse it in a kind of slow and foggy far tour-mix. Sure that you dance it this summer at dusk!
On the other hand Pele & Shawnecy climb it to a tech-house field, to provide punch, rhythm and seriousness clubbing. They don't minimize anything of the track, just make more powerfull and danceable with a view to end of afternoon and the beginning of special night.
Finally Fabian Argomedo custom the track's house-pop skeleton, change the sound and throw it to the dancefloor. Now the track sounds distand, obscure, frisky.. what a seductive and misteryous vocals! Like a snake when bites an apple in front of our own eyes.
E.B.O and Odille Lima, after this amazing track, we are yours forever and ever.

In the drum and bass world, Jade is a name which needs little introduction. Having helped define the neurofunk sound during its development, Jade's Eatbrain imprint has earned its place amongst the top names in the game, serving as a consistent and carefully curated source for cutting edge drum & bass. As such, this next release features a duo poised for world domination in their Eatbrain debut - the Russian / Ukrainian heavyweights known as Teddy Killerz. Although the duo only took up the Teddy Killerz moniker last year, the two producers have already left an impressive mark on the global drum and bass scene under the names Place 2b and Paimon. With an massive release catalog under their belt, and a bold, aggressive new sound, Teddy Killerz continues their assault on dancefloors across the globe. Eatbrain welcomes Teddy Killerz to the fold.
Teddy Killerz leads off with 'Violence', a driving concoction of upfront drums and sinister atmosphere. A percussive bassline beats relentlessly like a synthetic war drum, its malicious intent swelling and ebbing with surgical precision. Like a trained killer, 'Violence' offers listeners no sympathy.
In a lethal collaborative effort, Teddy Killerz, Jade, and 2Shy MC keep the bloodbath going in 'Blackout'. Kicking off with a ghostly melody on keys, 2Shy's lyrical prowess ramps up and kicks things into overdrive, resulting in an all out frenzy of ruthless drums, twisted soundscapes and glitched out vocals. Once it begins the brutality doesn't stop, it's unabating nature taking on a hypnotic quality. Turning the light on won't protect you.
Teddy Killerz turns to up-and-comers Mizo and Zendi on the third track, 'Bad Omen'. The trio brings us a standout collaboration already gaining support from some of the top names in neurofunk DNB. Dreary atmospherics ring with forbidding uncertainty, while razor sharp breaks set the pace. The grinding bassline drops, wailing dissonantly like an alarm, signaling the oncoming wreckage. Varying melodic elements, including a melancholy guitar solo, add a new layer of complexity to this aural weapon. Not for the faint of heart.
Lastly, Teddy Killerz closes their Eatbrain debut with 'Jacob'. Straddling the line between the deep and dark, this stomper pairs a powerful swinging drums with a raspy bassline, bleak ambience with trippy FX. The concoction will throw you off balance in the most pleasing of ways. Skank to this.

With a prolific career in the d'n'b and dubstep scene, MATT-U always keeps a unique mark, clear and recognizable, in his productions, getting the support of producers as Youngsta, N-Type, Skream and Benga.
After his releases for well respected labels as Black Box, Osiris, Subway, No.Mad is proud to announce his entrance in the Turin family.
This release comes from a real friendship with Matt-U born during some of our regular turinese gigs called 'Bratski Krug'. The better way to consolidate this friendship was to include in this release one of our best local dubstep producer: De Niro.
'Something About You' is maybe the most unusual track Matt-U has released in his career. Dreaming pads and pitched voices fused in a deep bassline. Future garage.. Dubstep.. Just don't care, in a properly No.Mad style. We loved this track and its power to draw the listener in a direct as simple oniric dimension.
On the B side, De Niro gives a more dancefloor interpretation with his remix, turning the whole tune into an unexpected new vision: dark and solid as usual, leaving now and then just the lights of the original one.
This was the best way to introduce the other tracks: 'Black Lodge' and 'Tuning'.This time Matt-U goes straight to the point spreading around the darkest vibes and the magnetic drum pattern with his classic and unmistakable imprint. As in 'Twin Peaks', the famous television series, we love thinking about two sides: white and black, connected under a red sign.

FRESH RE-MASTERED VERSION NOW AVAILABLE
Close 2 Death Recordings is proud to present: Optiv - Krakpot Remixes EP. Arguably
one of the most anticipated drum and bass releases of 2012, this EP sees the legendary
Optiv's track 'Krakpot' re-imagined by two undisputed kings of neurofunk - Jade and Billain.
With support from Ed Rush, Optical, Black Sun Empire, Dom & Roland, Optiv, Neonlight,
Mampi Swift, Xilent, Maztek, Inside Info, and Blokhe4d to name just a few, this EP promises
to be a landmark release for C2D and an enduring classic bound to smash dancefloors for years to come.
Jade (Budapest, HU) kicks off the EP with his excessively sinister remix, a punchy take
on Optiv's original with a particularly malevolent bassline injection. Dreary atmospherics and foreboding sirens ring out during the intro, setting the track's tone over simple yet perfectly calculated drums. As the introduction comes to a close, those sirens provide a moment of anxiety as they fade alone into the darkness. Then it hits - a menacing, infectious bassline taking all who hear it prisoner. Its dark nature is enticing like forbidden fruit and made only more potent by the drums' re-introduction, as the track drops into its aggressive signature
groove. This is a virus worth contracting.
On the flip, Billain (Sarajevo, BA) delivers a remix in a completely new direction,
transporting the track outside the organic realm into the synthetic. Ominous strings add a
new melodic dimension to 'Krakpot' during the outset, bleak and cold, as though looking
ahead into the dark future. Billain spares no time in thrusting you forward, breaking things
down briefly before initiating a trademark exercise in drum programming and expert sound design. The plastic bass cuts through the mix like a razor, with a surgical precision reserved for the elite. Billain once again paints an aural landscape of the future, so vivid it may as well be real. Are you ready?
