For Those That Knoe has dug a little deeper into the history books to unearth a somewhat understated gem in the form of Casey Tucker for the second chapter of For Those that Knoe. The mid nineties was a time when the sounds of Techno and House were being combined, new sub genres were emerging into clubs and DJs were forging their own unique take on dance floor electronic music. After a handful of releases on Probe under various aliases and before that on Plus 8 with no other than Ritchie Hawtin, Casey Tucker set up Fine Balance Recordings to showcase his unique melodic Tech House solo productions. The label released two EPs (The Carpet Dancer and Accumulated Knowledge) on 12". Very much in demand today and extremely rare, FTTK has worked with Casey to dig out the original DAT recordings of those records as well as a fine selection of unreleased material to represent the second chapter of For Those That Knoe. Some of the finest melodic Techno piece with glorious strings, sun drenched pads, liquid acid funk and sizzling hi hats, Some early acid rave sound and the purity of the early tech house sounds before digital audio workstations became favoured over their analogue counterparts. Great records with some of the best things that Techno has to offer.

For Those That Knoe: A new label from the UK focusing on under the radar tracks recorded by unsung heroes, ripped from dusty DATs and lovingly re-mastered and pressed onto vinyl for likeminded people and music collectors alike. KNOE 2/2: Casey Tucker A1) Tanita (Previously Unreleased) B1) Stratosphere (Originally released on FINE 002 1997) B2) Secret Desires (Previously Unreleased) After the success of Casey's first chapter on For Those That Knoe, he returns with three more liquid techno tracks, unearthed from his 90s archive. Two unreleased pieces are pressed alongside an absolutely rare deep gem from the Fine Balance vaults. Following on from BST on Knoe 2/1, Tanita is bright and melancholic bringing its phased soaring pads and slippery acid funk to grace the A-side of Knoe 2/1. Yet again Casey delivers a unique take on Techno, shattering those preconceptions of the genre's dark and moody melodies with warmth, swing and harmony. The flip sees Stratosphere, a stand out track from FINE 002 moves to the outside of the B-side. From the highs of Tanita, Casey drops the EP down into the abyss with a haunting lead, moody pads and a squelchy arpeggiated synth. The track speaks through the pure emotion of the harmonies Casey creates; able to tell a number of stories through his melody, Casey yet again surprises with his aptitude for creating something so simple and classic yet utterly fresh and new. The B2 plays host to a perhaps more stereotypical 90s style tech house track. Up in the skies with the likes of BST and Tanita, the chord stabs and intrinsic delay patterns of Secret Desires breathe funk over swinging rimshots and sizzling hi hats. The track sets itself apart from most 90s tracks with clever arrangements, an unpredictable but bumping bass line and some fine live work on the synths and groove boxes.

Hailing from Lisbon, Portugal Sabre are delivering their debut release from Clone Royal Oak with a fresh take on house and techno. If you're looking for effective formular club tracks, then please skip through! Four playful and emotive tracks without any of the modern club dogma's, however strongly rooted in a 30 year long tradition of our musical culture. From Model 500's Detroit techno to even further back like Gottsching's Berlin school electronics and Alice Coltrane's spiritual jazz. Music created from a subjective perspective evoking different kind of moods and emotions with their wide palette of sounds, rhythms and melodies. Even though this might be "psychology for dummies" you probably can say there is a heavy influence from their Portuguese culture and their hometown Lisbon. Warm sounding tracks with a cool (sea) breeze and some of the outgoing, yet laidback southern european character. But sticking to the facts... there is some wonderful and special music on this record!

Alleviated Records is proud to present the Ken Gill EP. Ken was on the scene while Bernard (Badie) and Larry (Heard) worked on music ideas between 1993 and 1997 and they both help out on "Love Moon", our first selection. Larry's "psychedelic" interpretation constructed around Bernard's bassline idea and Ken's original elements. "Just A Test" is up next with its' "tracky" feel that dj's, dancers and all who like to keep it "no-frills" should enjoy (we hope!). "Idol Mind" has an interesting combination of "moody", "upbeat" and "whimsical" that draws you in as you listen. "Jack Wit Honey" is another that draws you in as you listen but this time with a "melancholy" overtone combined with a fun "bounce". Ken has only been making trax for a short time but we were all pleasantly surprised to hear his ideas right from start when he decided to try his hand at it. We're happy to present his first release and hope you enjoy it too! Musically Yours...
