Art Crime
A1 Anxiety Is Always Here
A2 The Owner
B1 Renessense
B2 Intention
close
After standout EPs on Willie Burns' W.T. Records and Phonica's own label, the mysterious Art Crime is back with a new EP on Creme Organisation. It is a four track affair that continues to showcase the producer's knack for ravey, texturally rich house and techno sounds with a rather haunting edge. 'Anxiety is Always Here' is a high tempo stomper with spooky pads and jangling, energetic melodies that reverberate in a dark night sky. 'The Owner' is rooted on firm kicks and has dark, lo fi atmospheres percolating all around as paranoid stabs and gothic keys rain down from above. 'Renessense' is then a rather more stripped back and groovy, deeper cut with slithering and icy hi hat patterns and sombre bass notes. Still, it retains a trance inducing sense of freakiness before closer 'Intention' close out the EP in lithe, soulful and hi tek techno fashion. This is eerie, freaky late night dancing music that has a strong sense of identity and is only likely to turn yet more people on to the little known Art Crime.

Laying the needle on side A and listen to O Pais Do Sol, feel the smell of the sea and have a mojito, then when the sun is burning, smoke a cigarette in the shade and check what Trinidadian Deep thinks about that sound on the side B...Yeah you feel it, right? The party is on! Now dance until the sunset and when you feel tired, the Someone Is Gr8 track will bring you home safe!

Repressing of Larry Heard's return into the spotlight with another classic release after all those years! A fantastic 12 presenting the gifted Memphis based vocalist Mr. White (aka Chad White). 'You Rock Me' is a soulful affair, created to be timeless, while 'The Sun Can't Compare' is a fun play with vocals over a typical Larry Heard acid track. Must have for all fans of good house music!!
