Marco Sartorelli (aka Marco Shuttle) was born in Treviso a small near city near Venice (Italy) in 1975. since he was 15 he has been involved in the local underground club scene in the beginning as a promoter and then also as a dj. In Italy he was also working as a fashion designer and used to run his own label Fed up with the small Treviso he came to London in 2002 where he attended an MA in fashion at Saint Martins college where he graduated in 2004. During and after his MA Marco's musical side grew constantly and he got more and more active in the east london underground clubbing a dj he makes more or less constant appearances at Doudou Malicious' multivitamins, RUN, and he's a resident at the legendary SUD parties hosted by the Mighty Miss Lakuti and he's part of the Digital Beanbag crew run by the australian duo Ben & Jug. he plaid alongside artists like Portable, Lawrence, Sten, Mike Shannon, Alex Under, Oliver Hacke, Daniel Bell, Bruno Pronsato, Dapayk, Gustavo Lamas, Cassy. If you fight your way through Brick Lane’s mix of cultures, lifestyles (and famous curry houses) you’ll currently find Marco hard at work playing his own monthly sunday all-dayer Guerrilla Lime & Soda at the warehousy Cafe 1001, by now a classic monthly appointment for the East London new techno generation. Gifted with a visual background as a fashion designer, Marco’s musical style is constructed with an aesthetic approach. He has been deeply inspired by detroit techno and electro, acid house, new york deep house and garage and electronica and all the rave culture in general but also by not techno related musicians like Ennio Morricone, Miles Davis, Pink Floyd, Musique Concrete. His production has a deep atmospheric and tribally hypnotic texture and often mixes organic percussive elements with dry electronic sounds on groovy basslines. and subtle melodies.
