The preparations were so extensiv this time that I didn?t have time to prepare that much food. Sorry, just one dish, hope it?s ok to you. It will be a beef stew spiced up with some asian ginger and lemon grass. As always with the asian kitchen the key task is to get all the balances right. Saltiness, sweetness, sourness. To this, I suggest a dark minimal techno track with a rolling bassline, some weird synths attacking, big hand claps to get everybody into the groove. Let it move you and let it fill you up, feel how perfect it works together with the stew and how it grows into something bigger, like a classic party track where the catchy grand piano riff just takes you away, away, away and ? back into the groove again.
Everything comes to an end, even a dinner. But the night is still young and I suggest that we go on to a friend of mine, he?s playing some really proper tricks in his basement. A fat soundsystem and a dangerously nice bar. I?ll mix you a strong one when we get there. Just shake a few icecubes and some aged nicely aged american grooves from 1992 (re-bottled in 2007 of course) together with some bass heavy digital percussions. Pour the mix up with some nice acid flavoured berries and top it all with the specialty of the venue, the dark and haunting grand piano ? grooving, minimal, techno ? and all you?ll remember is ? that ? I ? told ? you ? to ? sweep ? it ? quick.
