Joseph Capriati
A1 From Stortoget To Big Ben / Marco ...
B1 Hooter / Hans Bouffmyhre Remix
close
Following recent excursions for Adam Beyers Drumcode imprint, Joseph Capriati delivers some hand picked remixes of tracks taken his 2010 LP Save My Soul. Cari Lekebusch, Fergie, Marco Bailey and Hans Bouffmyhre all remix the young Neapolitan producer who has won a host of influential patrons such as Dave Clarke, Billy Nasty, Slam, Chris Liebing and The Advent in recent years.
The penultimate remix is from Marco Bailey on From Stortoget to Big Ben. Heavily layered and rippling with reverbed horns and white noise, its no shrinking violet and ends the remix EP in fine style.
Closing the EP is Hans Bouffmyre who has an enviable discography for a young producer and was a firm choice for the remix package. His cavernous interpretation of Hooter is a seething mass of unrelenting industrial percussion evoking the darkness of Berghain or Fabrics room 2.
Analytic Trail has been instrumental in creating what is now recognized as the Neapolitan techno sound. The labels dynamic and inventive approach is the key to their success and the name Analytic Trail is synonymous with the Italian big-room techno sound. Launched in 2001 by Markantonio the label currently sits proudly at the head of Italys vibrant techno scene.

Abstract Division
A1 Floating Point
A2 Floating Point (Delta Funktionen Remix)
B1 Shifted Reality (Ben Sims Remix)
B2 Magnetic Field
close
Abstract Division returns with the second addition to their 'Form and Function' series on Dynamic Reflection. Similar to the first release, Part II also features two original tracks and two remixes, this time around by none other than Delta Funktionen and Ben Sims.
Kicking off the EP is the original version of 'Floating Point', which vividly sets the stage for all that follows. Firmly rooted in contemporary techno Abstract Division unveils a prime example of a record that succeeds at finding the precise balance between a modern stripped, glooming sound and the spacey hihat and bell-driven touches of old. Elegant and deadly effective stomping funk from start to finish is the result. Dancefloor hypnosis guaranteed!
Delta Funktionen presents his take on 'Floating Point' and delivers a stunning remix, exhibiting his skill at extracting the perfect elements and shaping something both instantly recognizable, yet powerfully contrasting from them. The result is a constantly moving track, rich in textures and subtle interplaying sounds. Ideally suited as an early drop in a peaktime set or alternatively as a special treat at the end of a dubby journey. Pure class.
Adding even more value to this already impressive EP is one of techno's finest. Taking on 'Shifted Reality' from the first release in the 'Form and Function' series, Ben Sims unleashes an absolute pounder. In trademark Sims fashion the drive put down by this remix is simply relentless, leaving the original to be neatly spotted in those rare moments of almost rewarding calm. Brilliantly uncomplicated, raw techno for those looking to properly tear a venue to pieces.
Sealing the deal is Abstract Division's electronica piece 'Magnetic Field'. A rare, introvert piece of music that wouldn't have been out of place on a great movie or videogame soundtrack. Entrancing, warping drones, every now and then accented by distant sounds of an approaching battle or impending doom. Aiming to open or end with something out of the ordinary? Look no further.
'Form and Function' Part II picks up where Part I left off and does so perfectly. With outstanding remixes from Delta Funktionen and Ben Sims and two equally great, carefully crafted original tracks by Abstract Division the bar set for Part III is a high one indeed. Luckily however, Dynamic Reflection doesn't know how to aim low.

After his succes on MPS005, Argentinean producer Tacito is back for some action on Micropunto.
Another 12' full of dubby flavours typical of Tacito's production, plus an exclusive remix by Giorgio Gigli (Zooloft, Prologue) which rounds this release perfectly.
This record starts with Lession, a dub techno mover that opens nicely this ep with reverberating stabs and percussive loops throughout.
Leaks brings us to a more mellow and melancolic mood with a break in the middle with nice freezing stabs and mellifluous pads that hypnotize us throughout the track.
Giorgio Gigli's remix don't fail to surprise us. With his refined productions he takes the main track and does a stripped down, dubbier version with melodic pads, that gives this track, Giorgio's special moody imprint.
The third track, Las Flores de Fidel, is on a more funky tip with nice percussive sounds while the digital exlusive track Hard To Sleep, closes this EP elegantly with a mesmerizing composition full of narcotic sounds.

close
Shaded Records present the first chapter of a melancholy tale, together with artwork from the beautiful city of Saint Petersburg. Apocalyptic techno brings us closer to a precipice - in the forms of a collective march.
Everybody has been aware of that movement towards an abyss, but Shaded Records whisper insistently that we have to move further - towards the drop. We simply must dance.
Listen to events in the background: wars are ongoing, gods fall from the sky, and markets collapse. Nonetheless, the march goes on. This is techno from a frozen megapolis for those who are willing to surrender all hope - but will never do so.
feedback:
Samuli Kemppi: nice tracks, mate. Liking the A-side best. Will give a spin to that on our Deep Space Helsinki radio show. Good work.
Unbalance: Top quality, full support! B2 is best for me!
Grovskopa: I have it now! Not something that would work in my sets, but very nice to see some new talent emerge!
Obtane: Really like the concept of both sound and artwork
Paul Mac: Nice deep trax a little bit Berghain sounding which is no bad thing thanks for sending

The M_Rec LTD, has become one of the most interesting labels in the world techno scene after only eight releases. Label's owner is Max M!
This time he shows an original track, pure sound signed M_Rec LTD. A journey with a very deep sound. Something that comes from his background, a walk through Detroit, Birmingham and Berlin. A rhythm that is not heavy, repetitive riff that nullifies any inhibitions. It's definitely evil, it's a reminder of the deep and pure techno.
The first remix is signed by Shifted (Mote Evolver)! One of Britain's most important artists on the scene. The sound becomes more intense and repetitive. The rhythm takes on a form of 'drum' and 'hi-hat', classic techno. Effects on riffs, amplify everything and they turn the track into a totally hypnotic pleasure.
Ascion (REPITCH / Drumcode / Synewave) is the artist of the second remix. Being a promising youngster he has now become a reality. The sound is industrial, but without a heavy rhythm, more like background noises. Reverb and effects that cancel themselves suddenly. The riff from far away is almost unrecognizable. A version definitely carefully devised and researched.

The new CLS018 by Mutt, Dave Whalen, Gerwin & Nuage is a real sampleheavy gem. The A side ''Sarah'' by Mutt and Dave Whalen is a real liquid burner with a a sample from the legendary Hall and Oates. With nice placed basses and drums to back the sample up, this is one to easily recieve sunday afternoon radioplay. The B side ''Stolen Hearts'' by Gerwin and Nuage is a somewhat more emotive one. With a real balanced sound and deep piano chords this is a real deep one. Notice how a jazzy trumpet sometimes comes in and fades again. Really musical.

Silent Dust is the project of UK duo Dan Blishen (originally from Manchester) and Andy Hobbs (hailing from Kent), who produced Drum & Bass together for years under the respective monikers Zyon Base and Hobzee. Their self-titled debut, 'Silent Dust,' brings their signature D&B sound into a different light, drawing from a wide range of influences - ambient, drum & bass, garage, dub, breakbeat and soundtracks. The result is a collection of deep, bass-laden productions that sound like absolutely nothing else, filled with lush arrangements, an array of found sounds ('footsteps, vinyl crackle, sellotape stretching'), cinematic vocal samples and glitchy, idiosyncratic drum programming. The album travels through a wide range of emotions and sounds - from the sublime intensity of 'The Giant' (equipped with floating operatic samples and tight drum programming) and the dark atmospheric grace of 'Marlowe,' to the weighted basslines of the club-suited 'Zero Nine Zero' and the sheer beauty of 'Winter Song,' lined with strings and a reggae-tinted vocal. Though it's driven by experimentation, this is a D&B record at heart: even the ambient tracks were written at 160-170 BPM. Their debut album was originally signed to Soul:R, but was pulled at the last minute: the duo bravely opted to start their own label, none60, to release their tour de force. 'Silent Dust' is a downtempo, atmospheric album that will become an instant favourite for open minds, and for those who seek something new. One of the most unique records to come out of D&B this decade.
