For the 13th release, Icarus Audio proudly showcases the debut release of a brand new Drum and Bass collaborative project from Basis. Coming out swinging, Icarus brings them into the fold with their multi-flavored, Graveyard EP. From the album artwork to the grooves of the plates, this one is SURE to fire heavy on all cylinders!
"Hold on Tight" features the vocal styling of Wednesday Amelia, a recently budding artist that has a few releases under her belt already, and the Basis boys bring her on board with this one to bring you an excellent fusion sound that gives elegance and filth at the same time! The intro is lush and packed in with strings and Amelia's voice breathes beautifully through the lead.... then as soon as you start to trust.... it flips and starts a fury with a dirty synth and keeps the kick pounding until it's ready to BLOW! Certified Killer!
"Demon Rocker" is absolutely infectious. Ragga-vibes and grit in all the right places coupled with huge reeces. This one gets straight to the point and keeps it fun and fresh on the quick mix. Basis giving their form and function on the Dub Phizix and and Skeptical type sound here, so fans of the vibes HEADS UP on this one! Badman!
"Graveyard" brings the minimal vibes with the grime UK Hip-Hop skills of rhyme bad-boy, SMK. As the title track of the EP, it packs serious depth and soul to the core. Starting off with the strings, moving to the clips and blips, and forward into SMK walking you through the graveyard styling every inch of the way. DJs won't be able to stay away from this one! Fits everywhere, and does the job EVERY time! "Get wild with style" and it's going to get hands in the air bouncing along with the subs and keeps it dirty! Fans of the sounds of Enei, LISTEN UP!
"Submerged" wraps up this EP with a classic style. It gives a half-step lead off and keeps it DARK! Lots of breaks, and plenty of nods to the old-school vibes of Drum and Bass.
