Not even a month after his Klang-debut together with his studiopartner NERK, DIRK LEYERS comes up with his first own record for Klang Elektronik. If you compare both releases something catches your ears for sure: DIRK LEYERS' own music sounds totally different than his productions with NERK, but both styles share an important common ground: They're far away from the beaten tracks of standart-clubmusic. Where humor, chaos and a quacky dancefloor are the definitive factors for NERK & DIRK LEYERS, Dirk prefers the plain beauty of elegant envolving detroit-techno grooves on this record. With AZUL you got the most epic and at the same time impulsive track of this record. Above a anxious meandering bassline, flashes bright synthesizer-sounds, while the beat unerringly gallops directy towards dancer's heaven. What a perfect trip! On the B-side DIRK LEYERS calms down a little bit and begrudges us with a conveniently laid-back almost-ambient piece of music called AZUR before he relieves us with the spheric wispering last track ALMA out of this record.
