Notorious North is ready for 2008 with deep twisted Minimal funk. North 009 sees the debut release of melbourne Techno Minimalist Craig Mcwhinney. Craig was discovered by Notorious North boss Wilko(Ignition Technician) whilst he was on tour down under. Craig is a part of MTC the Melbourne Techno Collective who run the best underground show in Australia. Now it is time for Craig to make his mark. The sound is detroit with minimal themes and is right up to date with the sound of modern Techno. Craig, just like label boss Wilko was brought up on the sounds of grunge and metal which gives his music that dirty funk driven edge. A love of all styles of music makes Craig a formidable Techno producer and a great DJ, been a schooled drummer helps alot too! Bringing Detroit pads, old School bass synths and minimal beats together for his debut single Antiquated ep.

Up first on remix duties is label owner Ignition Technician, with a bass driven Electro Techno work out that has all the bases covered. Wilko did the mix in the style of his new project Androids. For the first time in four years the original line up of Ignition Technician aka Wilko and Pete Simpson are back together but this time they have added their best friend Paul Walker to the line up to create a new band Androids. Second on the remix tip is U.S Techno producer Locutus. Locutus came to fame with his amazing work on Mark Brooms label King of the Snakes and Daimon Wild's Synwave label. locutus first worked with Ignition technician on the the 4th cut of the DJ special Needs series. Locutus is at the top of the techno game with his powerful and unique production skills, this remix is one to cherish! Powerful, deep with funky Minimal grooves.
