Current Value & Rodell - Sparse Land

Recording info

Techno titan Dean Rodell teams up with one of DnB's most respect producers Current Value to bring you a first taste of their shared vision of Dubstep, 'Sparse Land'.

'Requiem' has a deep old skool vibe, with rich synth pads that make the hair on you neck stand up and a piano to tug on the strings of your heart. Tight, techy percussion and meaty drums bind the melodic atmospheres to form a package that is tighter than a virgins daughter.
Requiem is a step beyond the average; class dubstep meets old skool electronica, the finest in the underground.
For the 'Requiem' remix we welcome Balkansky (aka Cooh) back to the fold. His mix brings Dean and CV's concept piece straight back to the dancefloor. A hard hitting dub fuelled beast that punches in all the right places and a further example of the masterful audio manipulation skill of Balkansky.

If 'Corridor' were a film it could only be described as Event Horizon meets Blade Runner. The cold, sterile ambiances and bleak 'sci-fi' cynicism breed with a bassline that haunts the very kit it dances with.
'User Error' is a collaboration with new Subtrakt signing 'Underhill'. Perhaps the most dubby cut of the EP, but still with a sense that a little Techno and DnB may lurk beneath.
This is the first of many huge Underhill tracks lined up for Subtrakt over the coming months, keep your ears open and you shall not be disappointed!
