Cybotron - Clear

Recording info

25 years ago Juan Atkins and Rick Davis created one of the first electronic classics of the Eighties: "Clear". It has influenced the electro, techno and house scenes throughout the world. While it sounds as fresh today as it did all that time ago, here we have some new mixes by some of the hottest names around.
Cobblestone Jazz (Matthew Johnson, Danuel Tate and Tyger Dhula) took on this project brimming with excitement and recreated every part and then played and recorded it live. The remix begins with the familiar breakbeat of the original then slowly progresses into 4/4 - a classic remix in it's own right and what makes it more special as it was totally improvised. Louderbach also stays close to the original but recreate it with new vocals resulting in another stunning reworking. Troy Pierce of Minus takes a different approach with a chugging 4/4 beat building a minimal, hypnotic dance floor groove, with an infectious hook that will stay in your head for a long time. The original is also included here in all its glory.
